New DAA Collection presented at The Venetian in Las Vegas from Feb 12-15
Booth #1716
Designers against Aids (DAA) is a project of non-profit organisation 'Beauty without Irony' that was founded to raise aids awareness in the international media and towards the general public. We do this by asking famous and emerging fashion designers, musicians, artists and other celebrities to create designs that we then print on items such as t-shirts, sweaters, condom boxes, ringbinders, etcetera.
The DAA logo -that's part of every item- features our website url, enabling people to find recent information on hiv/aids on the 'Links' page there.
This time the designs are by: Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein Collection, Playboy Design, Faithless, Katharine Hamnett, Scissor Sisters, The Cardigans, Rogan Gregory, Christophe Coppens and Hemingway Design. The t-shirts and sweaters are made of organic cotton in a Fair Trade community in India with the help of German company Sense Organics.
DAA presents the new collection of t-shirts and sweaters for F/W '07-'08 to buyers and press as part of the Eco Fashion Show (www.globalecoshow.com) in The Venetian in Las Vegas, that runs parallel to Magic (Feb 12-15).
50% of the net proceeds of the sales of these t-shirts and sweaters will be donated to the Institute for Tropical Medicine in Antwerp (www.itg.be) for their innovative aids research and aids awareness work with doctors in Africa.
You can find more information about DAA, planned events and points of sale on www.designersagainstaids.com
We thank you for your support!
